An interesting, original story full of secrets - huge, life changing secrets, drama - family, relationship and paranormal, battles to the death, kisses, shocks, boy trouble and the mother of all internal battles.
I liked the relationships in The Hybrid, Ari and Ily, Ari and her father and grandmother, Ari and Julian. They're quite the mix of personalities who clash frequently but love each other fiercely. Ari is an interesting character. She's very emotional, fly by the seat of her pants, who reacts first and thinks later, but she's also very protective and loyal. Ily is a great best friend who tells you the hard truths, her family is complicated and over-protective but loving, and Julian is a sweetie whose past is just as drama filled as Ari's.
There was enough action and twists and turns to keep my attention, culminating with an OMG what just happened? twist that left me wanting to know what happens next.
