{Release Day Blitz + Excerpt + Giveaway} Finding Resolution (Centre Games #4) by Natalie Gayle

Book: Finding Resolution (Centre Games #4)
Author: Natalie Gayle
Release Date: February 28th, 2015
Hosted by:  Book Empire Promotions

SYNOPSIS:

Finally, Dr. Jasmine Carter (Jazz) was getting her shot at taking the lead on one of the Centre’s highly covert operations. Great, wonderful, a dream come true even—you’d think. Well, that was until Mr. Tall, Dark, and Broody—Quade Roston, her fellow Centre co-worker—was assigned to be her partner.

For the last twelve months, these two had been at war. In fact, they’d elevated trading verbal barbs to the level of an international sport. For all the antagonism, the chemistry between them was just as strong. They both knew it—their teammates knew it. But what the hell were they going to do about it?

Simple—Jazz issues a challenge to Quade that she thinks he’ll never accept nor live up to.

Then their seemingly straightforward assignment to investigate a few cases of a mystery illness suddenly morphs into something much more deadly. Jazz finds herself the unknowing target in the middle of a bikie war. Now she’s dealing with threats from all corners. But maybe, just maybe, the biggest threat will be to her heart.

EXCERPT:
He looked out over the darkened ocean. The moon cast a silvery shadow over the rippling water. Right, time to push on with the evening. Quade headed inside, glancing at Jazz on the way past. As he approached the couch, she flipped the screen from Facebook to her email account. Ha, sprung! His guess was she was chatting to Rihanna online. He shot her a grin to let her know he was onto her. “I’m off to take a shower. You’re welcome to join me if you want?” She looked up a little sheepishly. “Umm, you go ahead. I’m just going to finish up these emails.” “Say hi to Brayden and Rihanna for me!” he threw over his shoulder as he retreated down the hall. Next second, a flip-flop whistled close to his ear. He ducked and chuckled to himself. His girl liked to play and that suited him just fine. “Guess we need to work on your aim,” he called back to her, over his shoulder. “That was a warning shot.” He paused at the door to the bedroom. “Good thing you’re so accurate then. It’s not like I’m a small target.” “I’m surprised I didn’t wing your ego in the process. It’s even bigger than you are.” “Yeah, huge, just like my dick that you seemed to enjoy so much. Getting into the shower now.” What he wouldn’t give to see the look on her face. Now the question was how long would she wait before she couldn’t stand it any longer and come and join him. She was so hot for him right now. She wasn’t on her own.

{Blog Tour + Excerpt + Review + Giveaway} When Good Earls Go Bad (Dukes Behaving Badly # 1.5) by Megan Frampton

When Good Earls Go Bad:
A Victorian Valentine’s Day Novella
Dukes Behaving Badly # 1.5
By: Megan Frampton
Releasing February 3rd, 2015
Avon Impulse

Megan Frampton’s Dukes Behaving Badly series is back, though this time it’s an earl who’s meeting his match in this delightfully fun and sexy novella!

What’s a lovely young woman doing asleep in his bed? Matthew, Earl of Selkirk, is shocked to discover it’s his new housekeeper! She’s a far cry from the gray-haired woman he expected. Matthew is no fan of surprises, and Annabelle Tyne is pure temptation. Perhaps he shouldn’t have had her hired sight unseen.

Annabelle, co-owner of the Quality Employment Agency, is no housekeeper, but she wasn’t about to lose a potential client simply because there was no one to fit the bill. Imagine her shock when the Earl arrives at his London townhome and she’s awoken in the night by the most attractive man she’s ever seen.

Matthew is a man who lives life by the rules, but sometimes rules are made to be broken…and being bad can be very, very good.

Excerpt: (love this part of the book!)
She couldn’t laugh. Even though she really, really wanted to, just for the sheer ridiculousness of it—him sitting over there, all confused and gorgeous and proper, asking her to “explore an attraction,” as though it were an exhibit at a museum.
But she knew if she did laugh, even for the right reasons, his lovely mouth would thin out into a hard line and he would close off and be buttoned up for the rest of the month, and she didn’t want that to happen, not at all.
What she wanted was for him to stand up, grab her, and pull her to him, putting his mouth to hers in a ferocious, claiming kiss.
But he was far too polite to do that. At least not until she’d told him she wanted it. That. Him. And she hadn’t told him anything, not yet, even though his question hung in the air like the recently banished dust she’d raised while cleaning the house.
And like the dust, she needed to address it. Only she wouldn’t be using her feather duster in this case.
Unless . . . ?
I would, my lord. Matthew,” she amended, smiling as she glimpsed the quick spark of desire that lit his eyes before he glanced away. Was her Scottish earl shy, then?
He hadn’t seemed so, but then again, he’d seemed altogether too brusque and remote when she’d first met him. Maybe he was hiding shyness under all that. Maybe he differed from the British aristocracy in his . . . well, in other things, as well. Because she hadn’t noticed him looking at all the women as they’d walked down the street or been in the tavern. He’d just looked at her.
And didn’t that give her a delicious feeling!
A feeling she’d never had, not even when she’d thought she was in love, long before she’d fallen. It all had to do with him.
“Yes,” she said, to clarify. “I absolutely would.”
Good,” he said.
Matthew,” she said as she flattened her palm against his chest, feeling the hard planes of his skin underneath his clothes. Goodness. What did Scottish earls do to get so fit? She’d have to ask him. Only not now, not when he was clearly so . . . so shy about all of this. He might just bolt, and then she’d never get to touch that bare chest for herself.
And she had every intention of doing so, all in the name of exploration, of course.
Yes, er, Annabelle?” His eyes had darkened, so dark they were nearly black, and suddenly it didn’t feel as though she were the one in control. His eyes, the dark passion she saw there, made her mouth dry and a slow, sensual shiver run through her body.
Oh, this was going to be wonderful. Even though it might mean that it ruined her for the rest of her life. Because she could already tell that this man, whether he was Scottish, an earl, a burnt-toast lover, and so much more, was someone she could fall in love with. Even though there would only be that afterward, no promise of anything more. Not that she needed anything more.
She just needed him. Right now.
Shall we go upstairs?” Her voice sounded lower, softer, and she could have sworn he shook as she spoke.
Yes, we should.” He rose, her hand dropping to the table, but before she could stand as well he had picked her up out of the chair and held her, high against his chest, his wonderful, hard, gorgeous chest, those dark eyes seeming to burn right through her.
She squeaked in surprise as he strode to the staircase, his steps as sure and strong as though she weighed as little as a piece of paper. Or a speck of dust.

{Rating} 4/5 - I really liked it!
{Review}
"While it's not precisely true that nobody is here, because I am, in fact, here, the truth is that there is no one here who can accommodate the request." (page 1, line 1)
A cute and sweet story, perfect for a quick pick-me-up.

Annabelle is a charming heroine. She's loving, finds joy in the smallest of things, she sees the best in everyone, is honest, direct, flighty, full of rambling explanations, and definitely not a housekeeper as she mentions once or a hundred times. She's been hurt before by someone she trusted and I so wanted her to get her happily ever after.

Matthew is logical. He knows exactly how he wants things. He's planned his whole life down to the type of woman he thinks he wants - and that woman is nothing like Annabelle. Annabelle turns his life upside down, opening him to new experiences - some very unexpected - and to emotions.

I loved Annabelle and Matthew together. They balance each other, Matthew's logic and Annabelle's playfulness. Annabelle helps Matthew remember fun and happiness while Matthew is the kind of man she can trust, he respects her, listens to her - even when she does her Annabelle rambling - and values her opinion.

Megan Frampton's writing style is quite chatty and sometimes silly, something I very much enjoyed. I was charmed by her characters and look forward to reading the next installment in the Dukes Behaving Badly series.

Caught between the sweltering fall landscape of Wilmington, NC beaches and southern illusions and expectations, all sixteen year-old Cameron Shade thinks about is art. That, and for Farrah Spangled to view him as more than just a friend. Cameron longs to win her heart through art.

Waiting on Wednesday (85) The Closer You Come (The Original Heartbreakers #1) by Gena Showalter

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, created by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week I'm waiting on:
New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter introduces the Original Heartbreakers, where three not-quite-reformed bad boys are about to meet the women who will bring them to their knees.

Just released from prison, Jase Hollister has only one goal: stay out of trouble. Strawberry Valley, Oklahoma, sounds like the perfect place for him and his two brothers-by-circumstance to settle down and live a nice, simple life. Model citizen isn’t exactly this rugged bachelor’s default setting—especially when it comes to a certain hot-blooded Southern beauty—but he's determined to play by the rules.

Brook Lynn Dillon has always been the responsible type. Not that it’s done her much good. The down-on-her-luck waitress is broke, single and wouldn’t know fun if it bit her. Or so she thinks. Jase makes bad look oh, so good. Dangerous, sexy and tempting as sin, he is everything she never knew she wanted. Passion sizzles between them, but is it enough to melt his resistance? After all, the right kind of trouble might be just what he needs…
