by Emma Grey
Release Date: 05/26/14
Seventeen-year-old Kat Hartland loathes Unrequited, the world's biggest boy band. Is she the only girl in Sydney who can't be bothered with perfect-looking Angus Marsden?

Give her 5 Seconds of Summer. Now.

Or maybe the seriously-hot med student who rescued her on a train—and who could be Douglas Booth's twin! Perfect formal partner, much?

But when Kat comes face to face with Angus Marsden himself, things start to get complicated. Very. Throw in a deranged female popstar, final exams, a part in the musical and a mum who just doesn't get it—and where is her best friend?

When did life get so crazy? Kat's just an ordinary schoolgirl.

Isn't she?

{Rating} 4/5 - I really liked it!

{Review}
"You cannot even be serious." Kat screams, gawking at the text message from her mum." (page 1, line 1)
The premise is adorable, a twist on the regular girl meets rock star, because this girl has no interest in the rock star - she barely even knows he exists.

I liked Kat. She felt real. Brave, insecure, passionate, talented, navigating boy trouble and friend trouble while pursuing her dream despite the pain in her past. Though she does come across as very young many times I enjoyed watching her transformation throughout the story until she faces her fears.

And the boys? The rock star and hot med student. I liked both guys and liked them both with Kat although I have to say I did have a favorite. Angus is as passionate about music as Kat is. Angus seemed very down to earth for a rockstar and it was sweet seeing him fall for a girl unlike any other. Joel, smart, together, kind, supportive. But he also has Sarah, a best friend he has history with - a best friend who is suddenly seeing him in a whole new - and romantic - way.

Though some parts of Unrequited were a bit over the top - and unbelievable - the story is fun and fluffy and full of charm. The story moved quickly, keeping my attention from the first page to the last. While I'm a big fan of multiple POVs, the five POVs in Unrequited wasn't my favorite, but I did like seeing inside the characters.
