Follow The Do Over’s most notorious couple, Rick and Madison, as they learn that It’s Not Over.

"I needed to get out of Miami and away from the constant reminders." (page 1, line 1)
Rick is an asshole. He's the King of Assholes actually. He'd be the first to proclaim it and would do so proudly. He's cocky and arrogant but he's also a charmer. He's loyal and protective and driven. When he wants something no one is going to stop him. And he wants Maddy. He has finally removed his head from his ass and realized he wants Maddy. Finally.

Maddy. I'm still trying to figure her out. Is she the tough as nails girl we see most of the time or is she stuck in the past, in her mistakes, in her guilt. She's an interesting character, and she becomes even more interesting as we see glimpses of her past, the experiences and losses that have shaped her into the person she is now.

As much as I liked Maddy and Rick together, and I really did. I liked their fire, the challenge between them, how they can call each other on their crap, but I thought that the relationship felt unbalanced, that Rick was all in but Maddy held herself back.

It's Not Over ends on a whooper of a cliffhanger so I guess it's really not over. What's going to happen next? I want to find out.

The Do Over, book one in the Do Over series, is where you can see the beginning of the Rick/Maddy craziness:

Life doesn’t look like it’s supposed to for Dani Ruiz, a hopeless romantic. After a painful and sudden break-up with Rick Marin, Dani hides away from reality, retreating to a world of fiction where she prefers book boyfriends over the hassles of a relationship.

Almost two years later, Dani’s friends are tired of watching her in a holding pattern, so they stage an intervention, forcing her back into the real world of dating.

Unexpectedly, Dani meets Liam Lucas, a down-to-earth firefighter. He might be the person to show her she’s still worth something. Dani’s hesitant to trust her heart with another man, but their instant and electric chemistry is something she can’t deny.

As Dani starts to believe that she’s found her real-life book boyfriend, Rick decides that he’ll go to any lengths to get her back. Seeing Rick as a changed man makes Dani question everything.

Can Dani trust her patched-up heart with Liam?
Or has Rick transformed into the man she’s always wanted?

Written from various points of views, The Do Over is a story of second chances and new beginnings.

"I stood with my arms crossed in the dimly lit doorway, watching him." (page 1, line 1)
The concept is really interesting, told from three points of view, the girl who got her heart broken, the guy who did the heart breaking and the new guy who falls for the girl.

Dani is sweet, a Kindle addict (which totally made me love her), she's also naive and sees the best in everybody. Liam Lucas. Fabulous Liam. I loved every thing about him, that he's a hero, the way he loved Dani, that he didn't accept second best.

Rick. Major asshat Rick. I think Rick's evolution was one of my favorite things about the book. Everything was always about him, his feelings, what he wanted, it was always 'me me me'  and thought it still is by the end of the book - his ego knows no bounds - he can actually see past himself and what he wants in the moment to what he wants in the long run. Zaun actually made me like him - at least a little bit - something I could not have imagined at the beginning of the book.

I liked Zaun's sense of humor, how Dani's friend Candace is the alpha dog of the group, and Rick and Madison's combative friendship/hateship.

  1. Thank you!! Look for Maddy to step it up. It won't be easy for them in Let It Go, but the things and people that are worth it...seldom are. =) <3

  2. I am wondering if Maddy knows exactly where this person she is looking for is? Or if she only knows that this person is in Miami. (trying not to spoil anything)
