Her destiny was written for her, long before she was ever born. She embraced it, wanting nothing more than to give everything within her back to the sport in which she was considered royalty. Her family’s legacy would live on, revered by all. And she thrived on the long work days she spent teaching at the academy her blood was tied to. Alexandra Sterling needed that dirt track as much as she needed her next breath.
That same track was the one that drew in a young student years before. Alex had given her heart away the day they met, knowing that he belonged to only her. For years she’d waited, knowing without a single doubt that he’d make her his when the time was right. But…she’d never asked Dallas if he felt the same way.Her hurt leaves her vulnerable, her days dark and her instincts dulled. After one night of hell, Alex is lost. Her world is crumbling around her, and without her lifeline and best friend beside her anymore, there’s nothing to keep her from sinking with it.Dallas Hunter is a pro rider on the motocross circuit, following in the footsteps of his father Eli. For Dallas, it’s always been Alex, but he’s kept his feelings locked away out of fear, his love for their family, his biggest obstacle. One short and chilling phone call to her puts him on high alert. Knowing something is terribly wrong sends him racing across the country, back home, back to her. But what he finds almost kills him.Now he’s watching her slip away right before his very eyes. Figuring out how to help Alex before it’s too late, might turn out to be harder than any race he’s ever ridden. And he has to do it with his team and sponsors screaming at him from the other side, trying to pull him back to the world he’s dedicated his entire life to.Dallas knows he has to help his best friend, the woman he loves…and do it without tearing his family apart.

"Wiping his palms across his face, Dallas swiped at the tears that had started, but to no avail." (page 1, line 1)I love Amy Gregory's Racing to Love series. I love her fabulous characters, her exciting plots and sweet and steamy love stories. I loved meeting the gang in the first book, Carter's Treasure, and watching Molly and Carter fall in love. In book four, Alex's Destiny, we see all the Racing to Love family living their dream of a racing school and meet Molly and Carter's twins, this is the story of their daughter Alex finding her own happily ever after.
Alex is exactly like I expected. She's playful and driven and as in love with riding as her parents. But her biggest love is Dallas. She's been in love with him forever, planning on a life with him, but then he breaks her heart.
Dallas loves Alex too. He's just determined to fight it. Although I didn't see what a big deal it was I did understand how afraid he was of losing his family, something he thinks would happen if he was honest with Alex. So he hurts Alex. Badly. When he realizes he could have lost her, when she continues to slip away from the vibrant, confident woman he fell in love with, he's done fighting it, done pretending. He's patient and kid and gentle, helping her bring herself back.
I loved Alex and Dallas together. I loved them as friends, the glimpses we see as they reminisce about growing up together, as they make tentative steps towards a romantic relationship and as they finally find their happily ever after. And Ruby? Loved Ruby. You've got to read the book and meet her!
The story was sweet and sad and lovely and had me completely absorbed. I'm already eagerly anticipating the next story from Amy Gregory.

Jesse's Soul by Amy Gregory
{Rating} 4/5 - I really liked it!Jesse Frost lived the life most men would kill for. Fast bikes, fame, money, and looks. He hadn’t thought much about those things throughout his career. He was just an easy-going guy from Texas who always worked hard for everything he got in life. He’d been the shy guy in school, so when the prom queen found him years later, he thought he had finally made it. Her mirage, however, left him empty and certain there was no one that wanted him just for the man inside.
Emery Kincaid has a last name that is revered in their world. A woman in a man’s world and succeeding, Irish through and through, she has the temper and sass to boot and a reputation that precedes her. She has remained strong because she’s had no other choice. The pain she masks runs deep and hiding it is the only way she can survive.
Thrown together and forced to be in each other’s space day in and day out, sparks start to fly—from chemistry and the brakes she tries desperately to throw on. Without a doubt, Jesse thinks he’s found her, but the girl that stole his heart has a stubborn streak a country mile wide.
What Jesse doesn’t know could break his heart. Hiding her true feelings for him is the only way for Emery to protect him and in turn—herself. She barely made it out the first time. If she let Jesse in and he walked away…well, that’s a risk her heart can’t take.

"This couldn't be happening - not now." (page 1, line 1)Emery is sassy, a little bit naughty and a brilliant mechanic. She's been through a lot in the past and it has changed her. It's harder for her to trust and even harder to let a man get close to her. Emery is putting herself back together, getting back to the life she loved, and then here comes Jesse...
Jesse. Sweet, loving, sexy, romantic at heart Jesse. He's a guy who knows what he wants and goes after it. And what he wants? Emery. He refuses to let Emery push him away, to keep it strictly business between them, demolishing all her defenses one by one. He shows her that he's a guy who will stick around, a guy that she can depend on.
I really adored both Emery and Jesse. They're both so likable and they have great chemistry whether they're playing or working and definitely when things get steamy.

About the Author When asked ‘when do you have time to write’, Amy Gregory simply laughs. The real answer is, “in bits and pieces”. She and her husband live in Kansas City with their three fantastic kids that keep them running in three very different directions. Because she sits so much, she always carries a notebook with her at all times. She has an off the wall, snarky, off the cuff sense of humor that often shocks even those who’ve known her for years. And she loves that her children have all been blessed that ability to make others laugh as well. At least she’s grateful most of the time! Her husband often teases her about how she “makes this stuff up” when he’s reading a piece of her work. … The answer—“it just comes to me when I’m typing”. Scary thought, huh!
Excuse me...(happy dancing..woot woot..happy dancing)
